Why a Freestanding Emergency Department?

In an emergency, every minute counts. This facility brings expert care even closer to residents of East Murfreesboro and surrounding areas, eliminating the need to travel across town for critical services.

Freestanding EDs are fully licensed and equipped to treat heart attacks, strokes, trauma, broken bones, severe illness, and more. The only difference? They’re located closer to the people who need them.

Strengthening Local Healthcare

The new emergency department is part of Ascension Saint Thomas’ ongoing $600 million investment in Rutherford County over the past 15 years. It supports rapid population growth in the eastern part of the county and reduces travel times for essential care.

Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford and Murfreesboro Medical Clinic both have deep roots in this community and a long-standing commitment to providing trusted, high-quality care. Together, the two organizations bring decades of experience and a shared focus on meeting the evolving healthcare needs of Rutherford County.
