Ascension St. Vincent's St. Johns County welcomes 55+ community for lung cancer education

Ascension St. Vincent's St. Johns County is emphasizing its connection with the local 55+ community.

The hospital hosted another edition of its educational lunch & learn sessions, this time with Dr. Akram Shibani, a St. Vincent's pulmonologist. He discussed lung cancer, its causes and other respiratory illnesses, while also highlighting the range of services available at the hospital to support patient care.

“Education is a powerful tool in protecting lung health and improving outcomes,” said Dr. Shibani. “By speaking with people face-to-face, we can raise awareness, answer questions and help individuals better understand their risks and the resources available to them.”

St. Vincent's St. Johns County hosts these conversations regularly and is currently planning the next version for the spring.
