Via Christi and Hutchinson Regional Medical Center Expand Advanced Prenatal Care in Reno County

Via Christi and the Hutchinson Regional Medical Center are partnering to launch a new Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) Clinic to support pregnancies in Reno County. Starting Friday, Feb. 13, the Ascension Via Christi Maternal-Fetal Medicine in Hutchinson will provide specialized care on the fourth floor of Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.

The clinic is led by Michael Wolfe, MD, an OB-GYN specializing in maternal-fetal medicine. Dr. Wolfe focuses on listening to each patient's unique needs to develop individualized care plans for both the parent and the baby.

Dr. Wolfe and his clinical team will provide local families with specialized prenatal care, including advanced obstetrical ultrasounds and fetal echocardiograms. He will also be available for MFM consultations, offered both virtually and in-person.

The MFM Clinic offers comprehensive services for complex pregnancies, including the management of pre-existing maternal conditions such as cardiac disease, hypertension and autoimmune disorders. The team also specializes in treating gestational concerns like diabetes, preeclampsia, preterm labor and multifetal gestation.

“Effective management of high-risk pregnancies relies on strong communication between specialists and the patient's primary obstetrician," said Dr. Wolfe. "By integrating these advanced specialty services directly into the Hutchinson community, we can more effectively manage patients’ high-risk conditions and provide caring, individualized treatment and support throughout their pregnancy journey."

“Bringing maternal-fetal medicine services to Hutchinson represents an important advancement in how we care for women and families across our region,” said Benjamin Anderson, President and CEO of Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System. “Through Dr. Michael Wolfe’s outreach services, women experiencing high-risk pregnancies can now receive specialized, expert care closer to home without the added stress and burden of traveling long distances. By strengthening regional collaboration and expanding access locally, we are helping ensure healthier outcomes for mothers and babies while fulfilling our mission to make health and healing available to everyone we serve.”

The clinic is currently accepting referrals and scheduling patients. Pregnant individuals interested in receiving care at Ascension Via Christi Maternal-Fetal Medicine in Hutchinson should speak with their doctor about a referral. For more information, please call 316-274-5990.
