Ascension Uses Digital Nudges to Engage Preventive Care

In an interview with Becker's Hospital Review, Ascension’s Executive Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer, Dr. Thomas Aloia, shared how Ascension is advancing the work of the Clinical Innovation Institute (CII) focused on advancing care through experience, quality, and growth.

Dr. Aloia highlighted Ascension’s use of text-based “digital nudge” programs, which encourage patients to schedule and complete preventative care. Building on this success, Ascension is now expanding this approach to support chronic disease management, medication adherence and maternal care.

These efforts are driven by the CII, which brings together a multidisciplinary team within Ascension to focus specifically on improving patient care and clinician experience through technology and innovation.
