Strong Inside and Out: Ascension St. John Women’s Health Event Empowers Tulsa Community

Ascension St. John recently hosted its inaugural Strong Inside and Out women's health event. The morning focused on movement, education, and cardiovascular health, offering expert insights and practical wellness sessions to the more than 100 women in attendance.

Chief of Staff and Primary Care Physician Dr. Jill Wenger delivered the morning’s keynote address which was followed by specialized breakout sessions. Experts covered critical topics such as medical weight loss and endo-bariatric procedures with Dr. Ty Kirkpatrick, hormone management in menopause with Dr. Marsha Howerton, and nutritional strategies for menopause with dietician, Rachel Vincent. Attendees also had the opportunity to participate in Zumba and yoga classes.

The primary plenary session was the Women’s Heart Health Q&A Panel, featuring cardiologists Drs. Megan Barber, Addison McGinn, Saran Oliver and primary care physician, Dr. Jill Wenger. The panel provided a platform for attendees to ask questions about heart disease prevention, screenings, and managing cardiovascular risk factors.

Strong Inside and Out represents our commitment to expanding specialized care for women across the region. As part of our 100-year legacy in Tulsa, we continue to innovate to meet the evolving needs of Oklahomans.
