Ascension St. Vincent’s Riverside is expanding access to advanced diagnostic technology with the addition of two new imaging systems designed to provide patients with faster exams, high-quality images and an improved overall experience.
The hospital recently celebrated the blessing of a new GE Revolution Ascend CT scanner and GE Definium Tempo X-ray system. The technology represents another investment in the tools physicians and care teams use every day to diagnose conditions, guide treatment decisions and care for patients across Northeast Florida.
For patients, the benefits begin with the imaging experience itself. The new CT scanner is designed to produce high-quality images using a very low dose of radiation while faster scanning capabilities can reduce the amount of time patients spend undergoing an exam.
The technology also allows images to connect directly with Riverside’s imaging system, giving physicians and care teams quick access to the information they need. That streamlined access can support more efficient communication and help clinicians make timely, informed decisions about a patient’s care.
The imaging upgrades are part of Reimagining Riverside, Ascension St. Vincent’s ongoing work to invest in the future of its Riverside hospital and ensure it continues meeting the evolving healthcare needs of Jacksonville and the surrounding region. Those efforts include investments in new technology, equipment and patient care spaces designed to enhance the experience of both patients and the associates who care for them.
The work at Riverside is also part of Ascension’s $2 billion investment in new equipment, technology and facilities across its health system.
