Via Christi names new president for Via Christi St. Peter in Derby

Via Christi has named Linsey Coster, LMSW, as President of Via Christi St. Peter in Derby, effective Sept. 13.

Linsey brings more than two decades of healthcare, operational and Mission-driven leadership experience to the role. She has served in progressively responsible leadership positions across Via Christi hospitals since 2015, most recently as Chief Operating Officer of Via Christi St. Joseph. Over the coming weeks, she will transition from her current responsibilities to begin overseeing the licensing, clinical planning, community integration and operational startup for the newly acquired Derby hospital as it prepares to expand healthcare access in the region.

During her tenure as COO and Assistant COO of St. Joseph and previously as Vice President of Business Operations at Via Christi St. Francis, Linsey consistently demonstrated excellence in capacity management, service line expansion, margin control and regulatory compliance. She has established strong collaborative relationships with physicians and clinical leaders, and she currently chairs Via Christi’s statewide Values in Action Collective, spearheading initiatives to support and enhance workplace culture across the organization.

“Linsey’s leadership at our hospitals highlights her dedication to operational excellence, clinical quality and community service,” said Tripp Owings, Via Christi CEO. “Her proven expertise in patient throughput, team development and navigating complex regulatory landscapes makes her uniquely qualified to establish St. Peter from the ground up.”

Linsey earned a Master of Social Work from Wichita State University and completed the American Hospital Association’s Next Generation Leaders Fellowship. She actively serves on multiple local boards, including the Via Christi Rehabilitation Hospital Board.

“I am honored to lead the development of Via Christi St. Peter and work alongside our teams and the Derby community to bring healing and expanded care close to home,” she said.

In June, Via Christi announced its property acquisition of the former Rock Regional Hospital facility and its renaming to Via Christi St. Peter. Significant integration work is required to ensure the property completely aligns with Via Christi’s clinical quality and safety standards, and the organization anticipates welcoming its first patients to the location in summer 2027.
