More than 50 residents received free health services and community resources Saturday through a collaboration between Ascension St. Vincent’s and Vituity Cares at the annual Green Cove Springs Soul Food and Music Festival.
A team of more than 70 volunteers staffed a pop-up medical clinic during the Oct. 3 event, bringing care directly into the community and helping connect residents with services that support their health and well-being.
The clinic offered free health screenings, medications, food distribution, haircuts, and children’s activities. By providing these services in a familiar community setting, the initiative helped address barriers to care for residents who may have difficulty accessing traditional healthcare services.
“Improving access to care starts with meeting people where they are,” said Lorrie Sarver, Director of Emergency Services, Ascension St. Vincent’s. “Partnerships like this allow us to connect with our neighbors and enhance access to community resources designed to support their health and well-being.”
The clinic was held alongside the annual Soul Food and Music Festival, which brought residents together for a parade, local food, live music, dance performances, contests, and family-friendly entertainment throughout the day.
The collaboration between Ascension St. Vincent’s and Vituity Cares reflects a shared commitment to expanding access to care and supporting healthier communities across Clay County.
Ascension St. Vincent’s continues to work with community partners throughout Northeast Florida to bring preventive care, health education, and other resources closer to the people and communities it serves.
