Ascension Saint Alexius earns statewide award for partnership with local park district

Ascension Saint Alexius is honored to be recognized with a Partnership Award from the Illinois Association of Park Districts (IAPD) for its longstanding relationship with the Hoffman Estates Park District.

Since 2005, the hospital has provided more than $1.3 million in funding for clinical services, preventative health screenings, and wellness events to the Hoffman Estates community through programming coordination with the park district.

Saint Alexius regularly sponsors events organized by the park district, including Community Fitness Days and the Kids to Parks Day.

“The work of any hospital does not stop at its walls. We have a duty to serve our community, and it is rewarding to be recognized for our community partnerships and investment in Hoffman Estates,” said Roxann Barber, President of Ascension Saint Alexius. “Thank you to the Hoffman Estates Park District for collaborating alongside us for over two decades as we work together to support the quality of life for our community.”

The IAPD Partnership Award recognizes organizations that have collaborated with a park district, forest preserve, conservation, recreation or special recreation agency “in a significant manner,” and in a way in which improves the lives of the patrons of that park or recreation district.
