Ascension Texas announces John Thresher as Chief Operating Officer. Prior to this role, Thresher served as chief strategy officer of Ascension Texas. In that position, he led the development and implementation of the overall strategy for the market, which included identifying priority strategic opportunities and partnerships. He also led service-line and business development to position the Texas market portfolio for growth.
Previously, Thresher served as chief development officer for a large health system in Texas. He brings more than two decades of executive and sales experience in business development, strategy, and operations across multiple healthcare sectors.
"John understands that to provide quality care for our patients, we must first support the people delivering it," Jamie Youssef, Ministry Market CEO, Ascension Texas, said. "His leadership will help our care teams continue providing compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals and their families."
A graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and the U.S. Army Flight School, Thresher served with honor as a military officer and holds numerous decorations, including the Bronze Star. He brings that same focus on service to his work at Ascension Texas.
"Working alongside the clinicians and care teams across Texas has been a privilege," John Thresher said. "I look forward to this new role that allows me to directly support the people who provide quality care to our patients every day."
