Who can visit this emergency department?Anyone experiencing a medical emergency can visit. No appointment needed. The facility will treat both adults and children.
-
Is this the same level of care as a hospital ER?
Yes. This facility offers the same level of emergency care, with diagnostic imaging, labs, and trauma capabilities on site.
-
When should I go to urgent care versus this emergency department?
Urgent care centers are best for minor illnesses and injuries, such as colds, flu symptoms, minor cuts, sprains, or ear infections.
This emergency department should be used for serious or potentially life-threatening conditions, including chest pain, difficulty breathing, stroke symptoms, severe abdominal pain, broken bones, major injuries, or anytime you believe you are experiencing a medical emergency.
-
Will I be transferred if I need inpatient care?
If hospital admission is needed, patients will be transferred safely and seamlessly to an appropriate facility within the Ascension Saint Thomas network.
-
When will it open?
Ascension Saint Thomas has filed a Certificate of Need application with the Tennessee Health Facilities Commission. Upon approval, design and construction will move forward. Updates will be posted here as progress continues.
