Ascension St. John Sapulpa and St. John Medical Center participate in the 340B Drug Pricing Program to help fulfill their Mission of serving the poor and vulnerable in communities throughout northeast Oklahoma.

Ascension St. John Sapulpa and St. John Medical Center qualify for the 340B program. St. John entities realized $3.4 million in savings from the 340B program in FY2024.

In FY 2024, Ascension St. John provided more than $66.5 million in total community benefit, including care of individuals living in poverty. Roughly 32% of the patients served by Ascension St. John in the Sapulpa and Tulsa areas have Medicaid or are uninsured.

Programs enhanced by 340B benefits:

  • The 340B program helps St. John Sapulpa support care provided for the uninsured and indigent patients of Creek County.
  • Charitable pharmacies: St. John Medical Center operates a Dispensary of Hope location serving uninsured populations with free medication.
  • Prescription Assistance: St. John Medical Center provides charitable care prescription medications to patients in need. This includes both uninsured and underinsured patients who otherwise would not be able to afford their medications upon discharge from the hospital.
  • Disease state management: Provides free medication to Congestive Heart Failure patients who are uninsured or underinsured who would not otherwise be able to afford their routine medications for this chronic condition.
