Shubhada Jagasia, MD, MMHC, serves as President & CEO of Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital, which includes both the Midtown and West campuses. Dr. Jagasia has overseen Midtown’s $300 million master plan renovation that includes construction of a surgery and critical care tower, a dedicated spine institute, a women's hospital within a hospital, a state-of-the-art cancer center and a new medical office building. At the West campus, she has focused on the robust cardiovascular service line, expansion of the heart and kidney transplant, neurosciences and critical care programs.

A member of Nashville Health Care Council’s 2017 Fellows Class, Dr. Jagasia has earned numerous healthcare recognitions and awards, both locally and nationally, notably: Becker’s Healthcare Top 2022 Women’s Healthcare Executive, the 2022 Nashville Business Journal’s (NBJ) “Most Admired CEO Award” as well as “Industry Giant.” The Nashville Post named her as one of Nashville’s 2022 “Most Powerful Women” and she was honored as a 2022 Tennessee Titans Playmaker.

After graduating from King Edward Memorial Medical College in Mumbai, India, Shubhada moved to Tennessee in 1994 to complete a postdoctoral fellowship at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis. She came to Nashville in 1996 for an internal medicine residency, which she completed at Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital, through the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Shubhada continued her clinical training at Vanderbilt with a fellowship in diabetes, endocrinology and metabolism. As a practicing endocrinologist, she created a program which focused on managing endocrine disorders during pregnancy. She subsequently obtained a Masters of Management in Health Care from the Owen Graduate School of Management. Prior to joining Ascension, Dr. Jagasia held many leadership positions at VUMC, the last of which was Chief of Staff for the adult hospital and ambulatory clinics at VUMC. She led the entire COVID service line response at VUMC for the duration of the pandemic before she transitioned to Ascension.
