Ascension is pleased to report that it had a strong and impactful fiscal year 2015 for our organization and for those we serve. Our positive performance during the fourth quarter was driven by increased net patient service revenue, growing outpatient care, and good stewardship of operating expenses — evidence of Ascension caregivers and their commitment to delivering personalized, compassionate care for all.
Most importantly, this has allowed us to provide nearly $2 billion in care to those who are struggling most —approximately $130 million more than the previous year.

As the healthcare environment continues to evolve and respond to patient needs, Ascension is working to align its health systems across the country. That means transitioning from an acute care delivery organization to a healthcare organization – moving away from treating people only when they are sick and focusing on supporting the long-term health of the individual.
This shift is essential to the long-term sustainability of Ascension and our goal to provide clinically integrated care for those we serve. Only then can we improve patient health and patient experience, while lowering the overall cost of care. Our positive performance this year demonstrates that this approach is working and will help continue to drive our Mission.
