Ascension Leader Among ‘Most Powerful’ in Healthcare

Anthony R. Tersigni, EdD, FACHE, President and Chief Executive Officer, Ascension, is recognized as one of the “60 most powerful people in healthcare in 2016” by Becker’s Hospital Review. The article notes that Tony leads the nation’s largest nonprofit health system and is president of the International Confederation of Catholic Health Care Institutions.

Other notables on the list include Sylvia Mathews Burwell, Secretary of Health and Human Services; Margaret Chan, MD, Director-General of the World Health Organization; Bill and Melinda Gates, Co-chairs of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation; President Barack Obama; and President-elect Donald Trump.

Earlier in 2016 Tony was No. 3 on Modern Healthcare’s annual list of the 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare. He has been on that list each year since 2005.
