John Tersigni has accepted the role of Chief Mission Integration Officer, Ascension Insurance. He will report to Tim Moorhead, Vice President, Health Plan & Product Development, Ascension Insurance, and have shared accountability to the Mission Integration Ministry-wide Function leadership.
Ascension Insurance’s purpose is to provide members and employers financial protection products while advancing Ascension’s strategic growth objectives. Ascension Insurance is now part of the Ascension Clinical & Network Services organization.
“The role of Chief Mission Integration Officer is vital to our ministry, especially as we navigate the changes required in our constantly evolving industry,” Tim said. “John will lead our efforts to integrate Ascension’s Catholic identity into our culture, operations and strategy. Further, he will work closely with us in our continued formation as leaders preserving our remarkable legacy of service to the poor and vulnerable.”
John joined Automated Benefit Services and US Health and Life (ABS and USHL) in 2014 as an account representative. Following Ascension’s acquisition of ABS and USHL, John was asked to serve as Director of Mission Integration for Ascension Care Management. During his tenure, John was responsible for building community among the three entities that made up Ascension Care Management: Risk Services, MissionPoint, and ABS and USHL. In addition, he led an innovative new initiative to provide on-demand spiritual care to law enforcement officers Ascension insures through the C.O.P.S. Health Trust, a nonprofit, statewide health and welfare fund for Michigan police officers, firefighters, public safety officers, dispatchers and clerical personnel.
John holds a master’s degree in Theology from Aquinas Institute in St Louis and completed his undergraduate work at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
