Ascension St. John in Oklahoma held its first Community Connection at Ascension St. John Medical Center on Nov. 14. The Community Connection is a dinner for 25 influential local leaders hosted by Jeff Nowlin, Senior Vice President, Ascension, and Ministry Market Executive, Ascension Oklahoma; and Lucky Lamons, Ascension St. John State Advocacy Officer and President of the Ascension St. John Foundation.
Jeff introduced the guests to the many great things happening at Ascension St. John, including its outstanding cardiovascular program – with commentary from the health system’s top cardiovascular surgeons – and an update on the health system’s transition to the unified Ascension brand.
“Overall, everyone really enjoyed this event and especially liked that we kept it very intimate, carefully selecting influential leaders in the community to attend,” said Candice Evans, Director, Marketing and Communications, Ascension Oklahoma.
Community Connection dinners will be held quarterly, with invitations to key stakeholders in government, business, healthcare, faith and education, and Ascension St. John board members. The next Community Connection, scheduled for early 2020, will feature an overview of Ascension St. John’s stroke/neuro program, one of the top 150 in the nation for advanced stroke care, which was recently recertified by The Joint Commission as a comprehensive stroke center.
