AMG physician receives award for excellence in care

John DuPuis, MD, a pediatrician with Ascension Medical Group Via Christi in Wichita, Kansas, has received a national award for clinical excellence from Sunflower Health Plan in collaboration with its parent company, Centene Corp.

The award recognizes his extraordinary efforts to deliver quality pediatric care and clinical excellence to Sunflower members. Dr. DuPuis earned the award for his quality statistics in infant well care visits, lead screenings and recommended immunizations.

“Dr. DuPuis and his team do excellent work,” said pediatrician Philip Newlin, MD, Chief Medical Officer, AMG Via Christi. “Their commitment to employing best practices helps keep children and our community healthy.” Dr. Newlin has worked closely with Dr. Dupuis since 1992.

“Dr. DuPuis and his staff have demonstrated the proactive engagement needed to close care gaps and educate parents on the best healthcare for their children," said Michael Stephens, President and CEO, Sunflower Health Plan. "We’re proud to recognize him for the quality care he gives his patients."

Dr. DuPuis joined Ascension Via Christi in 1992. He earned his medical degree from Ohio State University and is board certified with the American Board of Pediatrics and American Board of Pediatrics/Sports Medicine.
