AMITA Health hospital renewed as Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology

AMITA Health Saint Francis Hospital Evanston has earned renewal of its accreditation as a Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology by Surgical Review Corporation (SCR).

AMITA Health Saint Francis Hospital originally earned accreditation in 2015. This accreditation recognizes the hospital for providing the highest quality of care to its patients as determined by an independent, external process of evaluation. In addition, this means AMITA Health Saint Francis Hospital’s gynecological program, led by Drs. Teresa Tam, Marko Jachtorowycz and Riley Lloyd, has met nationally recognized standards.

“We’re extremely proud of this national recognition of our minimally invasive gynecological program,” Dr. Tam said. “Every hospital doesn’t seek accreditation, and those that do and undergo the rigorous process aren’t guaranteed accreditation. This reaccreditation affirms the high-quality, compassionate care we provide to each of our patients.”

According to the SCR, the accreditation program recognizes surgeons and organizations that “demonstrate an unparalleled commitment and ability to consistently deliver safe, effective, evidence-based care.” The accreditation program is structured to help providers continuously improve care quality and patient safety.

AMITA Health is a joint operating company of Ascension and AdventHealth serving the greater Chicago area.
