Ascension Borgess, part of Ascension Michigan, plans to build a $20 million, 38,000-square-foot cancer center in Oshtemo Township offering oncology, hematology and infusion outpatient services.
Construction should begin next spring, and the facility is projected to open in June 2021.
“We have a proud history of providing health care in Kalamazoo for more than 130 years, and we recognize the importance of expanding our services to meet the community’s changing needs,” said Peter Bergmann, President and CEO, Ascension Borgess. “This cancer center will offer convenient access to services for our patients in the greater Kalamazoo area. This is about providing the right care, at the right place, at the right time.”
“We are looking forward to the future to continue providing high-quality, compassionate, person-centered cancer care to all those we serve across the region,” said Iman Mohamed, MD, lead medical oncologist at Ascension Borgess. “This new cancer center will offer exceptional care, ease of access, and delivery of the highest level of treatment.”
