Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan, recently broke ground for a new Emergency Care Center. Nearly 300 people attended the event, including board members, community leaders, associates, physicians and local media.
“We are so excited for this new, leading-edge emergency care center,” said Stephanie Duggan,
MD, Regional President, Ascension Michigan. “We have been planning for a long time, since Ascension announced its reinvestment in our Saginaw hospital as well as Ascension Standish and Ascension St. Joseph in May 2018. The expansion will add 12,600 square feet, renovate existing space, increase capacity and improve efficiency, and provide easier access for ambulances, patients and families.”
The $17.6 million project will be completed in six phases and transform the facility into a modern-day emergency and level II trauma care center with 24 treatment rooms and two state-of-the-art trauma rooms. A spring 2021 opening is expected.
