2 new leaders join Ascension Clinical & Network Services

Two new leaders have joined the Ascension Clinical & Network Services team: Allison Bollinger, MD, FACEP, Vice President, Emergency Services, and Paul Reineck, Associate Vice President, Clinical Service Lines.

In the newly created national role of Vice President, Emergency Services, Dr. Bollinger will have responsibility for all Emergency Services including acute care, freestanding and urgent care models. Working collaboratively with other leaders, Dr. Bollinger will oversee the development of Ascension’s vision for Emergency Services as well as policies and short- and long-term objectives.

“This work is critically important as Ascension strives to deliver on the quadruple aim across the care continuum, with the ED often being the front door to our health system,” said Richard Fogel, MD, Senior Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer, Clinical & Network Services, Ascension.

Dr. Bollinger brings to her role nearly a decade of experience, having been a practicing emergency physician with Ascension Tennessee for nearly nine years, with the past three years serving as Chief of Emergency Medicine at Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital, Nashville. During her tenure, Dr. Bollinger assisted in establishing and leading the Ascension Tennessee Emergency Department collaborative before leading the national Ascension ED optimization team.

Dr. Bollinger completed her residency at the Department of Emergency Medicine, Vanderbilt University, Nashville; and earned her medical degree from University of Texas Medical School, Houston, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Baylor University, Waco, Texas. She is a member of American College of Emergency Physicians.

As Associate Vice President, Clinical Service Lines, Paul Reineck will lead the development of Ascension service lines, ensuring that they operate efficiently, effectively and safely. In partnership with physician leaders, Paul will support and lead strategy and service offerings by evaluating, developing and adapting them to meet the changing healthcare environment and the needs of patients and families.

Paul comes to Ascension after serving as Senior Director at the Cardiovascular and Neuroscience Institutes at Children’s Minnesota in Minneapolis. There, he focused on service line development. He also worked at Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, where he was Director, Outreach Programs, Strategic Operations, for the Heart and Vascular Institute. In this capacity, Paul had oversight of a portfolio of 19 national affiliates and the Heart and Vascular Institute consulting business.

Paul earned his MBA in Healthcare Management from Union Graduate College, Schenectady, New York, and his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Concordia University, St. Paul, Minnesota.
