These recognitions by Healthgrades, the leading resource that connects consumers, physicians and health systems, acknowledges Ascension Saint Francis as among the top hospitals evaluated for providing outstanding quality outcomes in gastrointestinal and gynecologic surgeries.

The hospitals named as America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Gastrointestinal Surgery have demonstrated exceptional quality of care, according to Healthgrades. They say from 2018 to 2020, patients treated at these hospitals have, on average, a 31.2% lower risk of experiencing a complication or dying while in the hospital than if they were treated in hospitals that did not receive the award, according to their analysis of MedPAR data for Medicare patients only.
And from the 16 state all-payer data set from 2017 to 2019, Healthgrades found patients treated in hospitals receiving the Healthgrades Gynecologic Surgery Excellence Award had, on average, a 45.9% lower risk of experiencing a complication while in the hospital than if they were treated in hospitals not receiving the award.
