Environmental Impact and Sustainability FY22 Annual Report: Taking Action Now and Looking to the Future

Ascension is dedicated to improving our efficiency, resiliency and sustainability while continuing to provide the healthcare services our communities need and future generations deserve.

Today we are pleased to share our Environmental Impact and Sustainability FY22 Annual Report available at ascension.org/environmental.

In October 2021, Ascension made a public commitment to achieve net zero carbon emissions and zero waste across all our sites of care by 2040.

Our FY22 report includes details on our waste and energy management initiatives. Both contribute the most to environmental impact and are tangible ways we are positively impacting the communities we serve. This year we installed 70 food waste digesters, began the transition to renewable energy, and continued efforts across our ministry to reduce our environmental impact and achieve sustainability.

Caring for God’s creation is not only important, it is part of our ministry identity and our shared calling. We will continue to work together to make a positive difference in the lives of those we are privileged to serve and our own associates.
