A ceremonial ribbon cutting was held on May 9 to officially recognize the Ascension St. Mary’s Women’s Heart Clinic in Saginaw, Michigan. The goal of the clinic is to help women who are at risk of, or who currently have, heart disease achieve and maintain optimal heart health. Working together with specialists from several disciplines, the women’s heart clinic takes into account the unique ways heart disease presents and manifests itself in women of all ages.
These unique ways include pregnancy-related heart health, menopause heart-related issues, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, hypothyroidism, and autoimmune diseases affecting cardiac health such as lupus and rheumatoid arthritis.
