Ascension Wisconsin To Offer Free Medical Services at Public Event on Milwaukee’s South Side

Ascension Wisconsin will host a Medical Mission at Home event on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Milwaukee’s south side. This free community event is open to the public and will feature family-centered health services, safety demonstrations, and interactive activities for all ages.

While our compassion to providing exemplary hospitals, practices, and care sites remains steadfast, we are thrilled to announce that we are honoring our values by once again serving our community through our Ascension Wisconsin Medical Mission at Home.  One of the most important health issues for our communities is access to care. Ascension Wisconsin’s Medical Mission at Home event brings health services out of our facilities and into the neighborhood.

Since the earliest days of our Ministry over 175 years ago, a cornerstone of our work is serving others and seeking those in need within our communities. Medical Mission at Home is a day dedicated to providing access to healthcare for those in need. Through the event, Ascension Wisconsin delivers free medical care such as screening, immunizations and consultations to those with limited access or who are struggling in the community. It puts Ascension Wisconsin’s Mission and Values into action.

“Our doctors, nurses, providers, associates and community partners are volunteering their time to deliver this care to those most in need,” said Daniel Jackson, CEO of Ascension Wisconsin. “On behalf of all of us at Ascension Wisconsin, we say Thank You.”

This free, family-friendly event is open to the public. No appointments are necessary, the services are free, and no insurance is needed. Services are provided on a first-come, first-served basis, and include:

  • Select medical care and screenings
  • Mobile dental clinic
  • Diabetes-focused foot screenings
  • Spiritual services and foot washing
  • Select prescriptions
  • Flu shots
  • Community resources

Interpretation services will be available to ensure accessibility for all attendees.

The term “medical mission” refers to volunteer caregivers who travel to other countries to provide medical services. The Ascension Wisconsin Medical Mission at Home does the same thing for our neighbors in need, right here in our own community, offering spiritually centered care to improve the health of our neighbors, friends, and anyone who may find it difficult to access care they need.
