Ascension Leader Recognized Among “Chief Transformation Officers to Know” by Becker’s

Ascension is proud to share that Chief Clinical Transformation Officer, Mitesh Patel, MD, MBA, was recognized by Becker’s Healthcare as part of their list of 30 hospital and health system chief transformation officers to know for 2025.

Leaders included on this list were recognized for their visionary leadership in transforming and reshaping the healthcare industry through a mix of digital, cultural, organizational and operational efforts.

Dr. Patel’s leadership centers on integrating behavioral science, digital health and clinical design to improve outcomes and expand access to care. A nationally recognized expert in healthcare digital transformation, he has led more than 25 clinical trials advancing evidence-based strategies to optimize decision-making and patient engagement.

His leadership continues to strengthen Ascension’s focus on innovation, data-informed care and compassionate service — creating a more connected experience for patients, clinicians and communities nationwide. Under Dr. Patel’s expertise, nudge campaigns are making care more seamless, proactive, and personalized. In FY25, nearly 130,000 Ascension patients received digital nudges through text message and email aimed at closing care gaps, and more than 30,000 annual wellness visits were booked as a result of nudge outreaches. These efforts are further highlighted in Ascension’s FY25 Ministry in Action Report.

Dr. Patel was also honored earlier this year as a distinguished recipient of Modern Healthcare's 2025 Innovators Award for his commitment to innovating changemaking care.
