Ascension Saint Thomas River Park Renovates 10-Bed Unit to Meet Growing Community Needs

Ascension Saint Thomas River Park Renovates 10-Bed Unit to Meet Growing Community Needs

Ascension Saint Thomas River Park Hospital has opened a newly renovated 10-bed inpatient unit as part of its ongoing investment in meeting the healthcare needs of the growing McMinnville community. The new unit helps ensure more patients can receive care close to home.

Located on the third floor, the renovated unit features updated finishes and care standards consistent with River Park’s recently renovated 12-bed intensive care unit (ICU). These enhancements allow the hospital to more effectively serve patients locally, helping them remain close to home while receiving high-quality, patient-focused care.

“As our community continues to grow, it is essential that our hospital grows with it,” said Eric Paul, president of Ascension Saint Thomas River Park Hospital. “It’s another example of how we are investing in our patients, our caregivers, and our mission to serve the evolving healthcare needs of McMinnville and the surrounding communities.”

Saint Thomas River Park is a 125-bed hospital and the largest of Saint Thomas’ regional hospitals. With nearly 400 associates and a medical staff representing 26 specialties, the hospital continues to enhance its services and facilities to meet community needs. Recent upgrades include telemedicine stroke services, the return of acute dialysis to McMinnville, new robotic-assisted surgical technology, and a renovated 12-bed ICU. Construction is also underway on a renovated and expanded emergency department, planned to open in spring 2026.

Ascension Saint Thomas remains committed to providing high-quality, community-centered healthcare across Middle Tennessee. By investing in local facilities like Saint Thomas River Park, the system continues to ensure that compassionate, advanced care is available close to home.
