Ascension Saint Agnes Recognized for High Level of Safety by The Leapfrog Group

Ascension Saint Agnes was awarded a ‘B’ grade in the Fall 2019 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades.

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is published by The Leapfrog Group, a nonprofit organization that aims to drive quality, safety, and transparency in the U.S. health system. Each year in the spring and fall, The Leapfrog Group calculates hospital safety grades using national data on medical errors, accidents, injuries, and infections.

“Ascension Saint Agnes has long been committed to providing quality care to our patients and our community,” said Christopher A. Chekouras, President & CEO, Ascension Saint Agnes. “I am proud to be part of a team that strives for continuous improvement in how we deliver care and holds ourselves accountable to address any potential areas for improvement.”

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 28 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign grades to more than 2,600 U.S. acute-care hospitals twice per year.

Hospitals are awarded grades from ‘A’ to ‘F’ representing a hospital’s overall performance in keeping patients safe from preventable harm and medical errors.
