The care that the Daughters of Charity Services of Arkansas provide at their clinics in Dumas and Gould was recently highlighted in an article of Arkansas Catholic, the Diocese of Little Rock’s official newspaper. The story, “Catholic Clinic Workers in Delta Praise Health Reforms,” highlights how the Daughters have gained a reputation for understanding the new health reform laws, helping not just their patients and families access insurance, but others within the area who are using the associates’ expertise.
The article provides an overview of the work of the clinics two “navigators,” who have been certified by the federal government to help people wishing to sign up for insurance. As of early August, the Daughters of Charity Services of Arkansas navigators had signed up more than 600 people.
