Ascension President and CEO Anthony R. Tersigni, EdD, FACHE, celebrates career of Sr. Carol Keehan, DC

The Catholic health ministry in the United States is more widely recognized and respected thanks to the many contributions of Sr. Carol Keehan, leader of the Catholic Health Association for the past 13 years.

Throughout her career, Sr. Carol has been a voice of justice and compassion, serving as a steadfast advocate for those who are poor and vulnerable. In numerous leadership and governance roles for Ascension’s own local health ministries, Sr. Carol every day demonstrated integrity and a keen awareness of the need to do the right thing for those we are privileged to serve.

As CHA Board Chair in 2010, I was privileged to collaborate with Sr. Carol as she led the Catholic health ministry’s efforts to advocate for the passage of healthcare reform. Like everyone serving in Catholic healthcare, I celebrate her leadership and her many contributions. It has been blessing working closely with her to strengthen the Catholic healthcare ministry.

President and Chief Executive Officer, Ascension
