Therapy dogs make a difference for patients, family members

Therapy dog Mordecai, from nonprofit organization Paws and Think, leaves a lasting impression wherever he goes – including at Ascension St. Vincent in Indiana.

Mordecai’s visits are important not only for patients and participants, but to their family members as well.

“I would just like to take a moment to thank Mordecai for visiting my husband at St Vincent’s ICU unit,” a patient’s wife wrote recently. “My husband passed away July 8th and dearly loved dogs. We have two rescues here at home. Thank you for what you do! You do make a difference in the world.”
