Geronimo Rodriguez, Chief Advocacy Officer of Ascension Texas, recently discussed the financial impact to hospitals if a proposed change to Medicaid is adopted. He was quoted in an article by the Austin American-Statesman.
Twelve regional hospitals could face a combined decrease of $120 million in Medicaid matching funds if the proposed rule goes into effect, Ascension Texas predicts.
“It has the potential to impact the health of our neighbors and our local communities,” Geronimo said. “We are working extremely hard as an industry, as a community, to try to make sure this (rule change) does not come to fruition.”
