Sacred Heart Gulf Women’s Diagnostic Center receives $25,000 gift

Brendan and Cindy Murphy and The Murphy Family Foundation have generously donated $25,000 to Sacred Heart Gulf's Women's Diagnostic Center. This transformative gift will enable the center to incorporate the latest technology and comforting features to create a healing environment that improves screening and enhances breast cancer diagnoses.

“We are so thankful to the Murphys for their investment of time and resources to help us increase access to advanced healthcare services,” said Kelly Beach, Sacred Heart Gulf, Administrator.

The Murphys live full-time in Gulf County. They are both actively engaged in the community, with Brendan serving as Vice Chair of the Sacred Heart Gulf Advisory Board.

“We are committed to investing in our community and hospital, Brendan and Cindy said. “With this gift, we want to ensure every woman in Gulf County has access to the latest, life-saving technology.”

“We extend our deepest thanks to The Murphy Family Foundation for their investment in the women of Gulf County, which will change lives and change futures,” said Adrienne Maygarden, president of the Sacred Heart Foundation.

The center added 3D mammography capabilities in March 2023, improving the chances of detecting breast cancer earlier when most treatable. With continued community support, Ascension Sacred Heart Gulf will soon have a new Women’s Diagnostic Center designed with a woman’s comfort and convenience in mind. However, $28,000 is still needed before construction begins on the new center, providing convenient, compassionate care to meet the unique healthcare needs of women in the community.
