Ascension Sacred Heart Bay, part of Ascension Florida, and Feeding the Gulf Coast recently sponsored a food drive. The drive distributed 10,000 pounds of food to 400 people.
“This for me is the core of what it means to be human and to be connected to one another, and it’s a beautiful opportunity for everyone to realize that we all have the same needs,” Sr. Grace Ford, Chaplain at Ascension Sacred Heart Bay, told WMBB-TV.
"It's the heart of humanity. It is what binds us together. We all have a common need for food, and shelter, and connection, and so to be able to work together, partner together, and know that people are going home with a full cupboard is the greatest gift,” she told WJHG-TV.
