People gather in parking lots for COVID-19 prayer vigils

As communities across the nation work together to fight COVID-19, faith communities are joining together to lift the spirits of healthcare workers and patients, while also lifting them up in prayer.

People in Jacksonville, Florida, and Mobile, Alabama, drove to their neighborhood Ascension hospitals Sunday evening to sing and pray together from their cars, ensuring they practiced social distancing. Click here for a fascinating video of the prayer vigil at Ascension Providence in Mobile.

Organizers said they wanted to show their support for caregivers and patients, most of whom are currently unable to have visitors.
