Via Christi Associates Hold “Helping Hands Hygiene Drive” Benefiting HumanKind Ministries

As part of Via Christi’s mission to serve all persons, with special attention to those who are poor and vulnerable, members of our Mission Formation team have been volunteering with HumanKind Ministries. Through our volunteer work, we learned of the great need for more personal hygiene items.

"Our associates really care about the people of Wichita, and are willing to provide that holistic care, that body, mind and spiritual care, people need not just within healthcare," said Zachary Williams, who led the drive as part of his work with Via Christi's Mission Formation team.

Williams worked with associates at Via Christi hospitals and clinics in Wichita, including St. Francis and Via Christi St. Teresa, to encourage participation in the “Helping Hands Hygiene Drive” benefiting the homeless and impoverished in the area.
Because of our long-standing commitment to bettering our community through collaboration with community partners, we teamed up with HumanKind Ministries, an organization that supports Wichita’s homeless and impoverished population.  For the last several months, we have worked with HumanKind to find ways for our leaders and associates to connect more deeply with those with whom we both serve.

“HumanKind relies on the support of the community to serve our most vulnerable neighbors. We are grateful for Via Christi’s commitment to our mission by providing essential basic needs to those we serve,” said Greer Cowley, Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships for HumanKind Ministries.
