Gagan Singh serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Ascension.
He leads the Ascension Technologies team in building out the data exchange functions, foundational infrastructure and compelling applications that provide Ascension’s healthcare operations with a seamless, end-to-end technology experience for both patients and providers.
Gagan joined Ascension in 2019 as Vice President and Chief Data Officer. He established Ascension’s approach to managing clinical and business data and enhancing the availability of these assets for analytics, reporting and information exchange. He established a data governance operating model, enterprise master patient index and adaptive claims warehouse to support extensive analytics use cases.
Prior to joining Ascension, Gagan was Vice President and Head of Data Management for Zurich Insurance North America. He previously was Zurich’s Head of Enterprise Architecture. He started his career as a software engineer and has worked for SAP America, Wipro Technologies and Satyam Computer Services.
Gagan earned a bachelor’s degree in technology from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, India, and holds certification in Artificial Intelligence: Implications for Business Strategy from MIT Sloan School of Management. He co-chairs the Chicago governing body for Evanta, Gartner's Chief Data Officer community.
He lives in the Chicago area with his wife and two children.
