With over 15 years of progressive HR leadership experience, Julia Melson currently serves as the Chief Human Resources Executive for Ascension Saint Thomas. In this role, Julia oversees all aspects of associate experience, talent and workforce strategy development and execution in alignment with strategic and operational priorities.
Julia joined Ascension in 2014 as a Human Resources Business Partner for Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital, where she served as an active member of the senior leadership team for both the West and Midtown campuses. Prior to joining Ascension Saint Thomas, Julia worked in a variety of HR positions within education and manufacturing, progressing to the Human Resources Site Lead for Hemlock Semiconductor, LLC in Clarksville, TN. She has a passion for creating innovative talent strategies and leading workforce planning and development initiatives to help organizations thrive in an increasingly competitive talent landscape.
Julia obtained her bachelor’s degree in Business Management / Human Resources from Murray State University in Murray, KY, and her Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville, IN. Julia is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and holds the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification.
