Fahad Tahir serves as President & CEO of Ascension Saint Thomas and SVP, Ministry Market Executive, Ascension Tennessee. In this role, he oversees the health system’s 16 hospitals and a comprehensive network of affiliated joint ventures and medical practices. Fahad focuses on creating a culture of trust and collaboration with physicians, clinicians/associates, payors, and other key stakeholders.

Most recently, Fahad served as Chief Strategy Officer for Ascension Saint Thomas where he led strategy and service lines across the health system. Focused on advancing key service lines and building out the system of care, he facilitated capital investments across the market and added complementary partnerships including joint venture specialty hospitals, surgery centers, physical therapy clinics and other care venues to expand geographic and clinical access for the community.

Prior, Fahad served as President and CEO of Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital, Midtown and West. Fahad brought a deliberate approach to the role with a commitment to clinical program development, growth and innovation. This effort brought Midtown and West together as an integrated hospital, designed and launched a $300M capital investment in clinical programs, an overall campus master plan, and expanded services in partnership with physicians and health plans.

Previously, Fahad served as President and CEO of Ascension Medical Group-TN, where he oversaw one of the region’s largest medical groups as well as physician network strategy, service line development and managed care/value-based care.

Before joining Ascension Saint Thomas, Fahad held leadership roles in Washington, D.C. and Milwaukee, Wisconsin responsible for medical groups, value-based care and obtained three CMS Innovation awards.

Fahad earned his master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health, MBA from Loyola University Chicago and his bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Fahad is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, a Fellow of the Washington DC's Health Care Advisory Board and a Fellow of Nashville Health Care Council. Fahad currently serves on the board of the Catholic Health Association, Nashville Health Care Council, National Public Radio - WPLN Nashville and American Heart Association -Middle Tennessee.
